Tom Stevens, LPC-S, RPT-S
I am a psychotherapist who specializes in working with children and their families, and I have a private practice in Houston, Texas. With over 15 years experience, my main goal is to help people get where they want to go by building a safe and supportive atmosphere for treatment.
I am a native Texan and have lived in Houston for most of my life. I have been married to my wife, Jill, for 13 years and we currently live in Northwest Houston with our two children. I have served on the board of the Sam Houston Association for Play Therapy (SHAPT). This is the local chapter of the Texas Association for Play Therapy (TAPT), which focuses on play therapy as the most effective way to treat children’s emotional issues. I am also on staff at the Foundry Faith Academy, in Northwest Houston, where I provide education, support, and consultation to staff and parents regarding the children at the preschool.
Whether it is a one time consultation to get help with some current life issues, education on a particular parenting issue or even ongoing counseling for something that doesn’t seem to be getting any better, I am here to help you get where you want to go. Contact me today for a consultation!

Melissa Borchgrevink, MA, LPC Intern
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern who is supervised by Tom Stevens, LPC-S, RPT-S. I was born and raised in Cypress, Texas and received my B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2016. I graduated with honors from Texas State University with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling in May, 2019. During my program, I was trained in play therapy along with counseling teens and adults. I was also a student intern at the Children’s Bereavement Center in San Antonio where I co-led groups and saw children and teens individually. I believe that a caring and trusting therapeutic relationship can create change. I have a passion for working with children and teens by showing them how to trust the world around them through a safe and supportive environment. I look forward to working with you!
